Bibles are truly in high demand, but the people of China have no way to get them. They are relying on us, the body of Christ, to come together and bring them the Word. God is using us this week to do just that. Carry bibles across the border of China. We pack our bags, head off to the border and pray real hard as we place our bags on the scanner. I have gotten past the customs officers 3 out of 5 times so far. God knows exactly which bibles He wants in China and has a plan for each one. We are unaware of what happens after we deliver.
It has been a real interesting time here this past week. We have learned a valuable lesson...finding joy in the routine of life. It is a lesson I will bring home with me. It is easy to find joy in the fun times, but in the tough times (like being stopped by a customs officer when you REALLY want the bibles to get into China) it is hard to stay joyful and keep your cool. You should see the line that you have to wait in to get your bibles back!! They give them back which is a blessing, but you have to pay!
I knew that China was in need of Gods Word, but what I have learned this past week REALLY opened my eyes. China has 1.4 Billion people and as far as anyone can guess there are only 40 million bibles in the whole country. The need is so great. So many people in China are hearing about God, but are not able to study God's word. This situation breaks my heart, especially because I have been to a part of China where people have never heard the name of Jesus.
Just last week, I went to the Christian Book Store in Texas and bought a bible. It was such an ordeal. Not because they aren't readily available, but because there were too many to choose from. I couldn't figure out if I wanted a black or green one, big or small. I also was upset at the price. I searched the whole store for a "cheap" bible. Now, I am etremely thankful for that store full of bibles.
I hope that after you read this blog, you will lift China up in your prayers. Please pray that bibles will be readily available like they are in the states. I also ask that you pray for the people here who do this day in and day out.
We are off to India next!!!

T-Shirt Sale

Our team had T-Shirts made to raise money for our upcoming trip. We have a variety of sizes. We are asking for a minimum donation of $15.00. We would really appreciate your support!
If you are interested. Please email me at kimmykim7@gmail.com.
Two cool stories!
Recently, our team made T-shirts for a fund raiser. We were on our way to sell them in front of Wal-Mart (try not to just ignore the people in front of your Wal-Mart...it is not easy to stand there and ask for money...it's usually for a good cause too). I stopped by Walgreens Drug Store to print some pictures for a poster I made. The lady who printed had so much fun looking through these pictures. She was full of questions when I came back to pick them up. She started to cry when I was telling her some of the stories. She told me that her mother and her sister recently passed away. She said the night before she was telling God that He needed to send someone into her life to show her that He exists and loves her. God used ME!!! ME!! She said that looking at those pictures showed her how God takes care of His people. After a lot of hugging and tears...she ended up buying two T-shirts :)!!!
On this past trip, we spent a few days at the Red Sea in Egypt. We were there for a time of debrief before going onto Israel. Our group was really excited about being there and we were really enjoying life. There was a man who worked at the computer lab at our hostel. He interacted with all of us a lot...we did not have internet access very often, so we were writing everyone!! On the day we were leaving we exchanged email addresses. That was at the end of January. Well...just the other day I got an email from him asking if I could tell him about Jesus!
It is so cool to me that we (the people who go on these trips) have NO CLUE of the impact that is made on the lives of people around the world!
Preparing for the Journey!
You would think that since I have done this twice before (preparing for around the world journies) it would be easy!! It's not. I still do not have this whole packing thing down. Ha ha!
What a blessing to have the opportunity to go AROUND THE WORLD 3 times. God is so funny! When people ask me how I got involved in this...I never have an answer. I start by telling them that I never even had the courage to dream this big. Yeah, I wanted to travel...BUT THREE TIMES AROUND THE WORLD!! I still have to pinch myself so I know that this is really my life. The things I have seen and the people I have met are beyond even my own comprehension.
As I prepare for this next journey, my thought process is different than it was for the last two. My first trip was going into the unknown. I didn't know what to expect and I didn't know anyone on the trip. I wasn't really sure how Kim Lynch was going to pull off the "missionary" title! My next trip was shorter and more familiar...which made it easier!! I was up for anything that came my way and ready for an adventure! As I prepare for THIS trip, I realize that I have NO CLUE what God is doing in my life and it scares me a bit. I have found on the previous two trips where God has gifted me and now I am wondering why?? I know that I have not lived up to my potential over this break between trips. I am too comfortable! I see areas of my life where God is forming my character and I just can't help but wonder WHY? This trip is going to be a journey of seeking God, growing closer to Him and hopefully finding answers to some questions I have.
Some people may wonder why I would leave my "comfortable" life to serve God. Pleasure trip (I get that a lot). I do these trips because I see God in the eyes of the people of the world. I am happiest when I am playing with an orphan in Africa or sitting with a Leper in India. I like to go as a vessel for Jesus Christ into the nations and love HIS people. Trust me, living on $3.oo a day, eating white rice for every meal and going to the bathroom in a hole does not excite me. None of that matters when I hear the orphans in India sing "Shout to the Lord" or I see a Chinese person read the bible for the first time in their life.
I am excited to see what God is going to do on this trip!! Thank you for your prayers!!
